I live in NC and have 6 Sabal Palmettos and 1 pindo.
We’re coming out of winter and I see that alot of the fronds have brown ends. Can I trim the brown ends?
Also I noticed on another tree the fronds around the crown of the tree are completely yellow but the heart still has about 4 green fronds. What do I do about the yellow fronds? Will they come back through fertilization or will they eventually turn brown and die?

Hi Brian. Don't cut the brown fronds until they are completely dry. About the yellow fronds, wait for them to turn brown and dry out. Palms use nutrients from dying fronds for new growth, so cutting them will just do more harm than good. I know it doesn't look good to have all those yellow leaves. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. ~Susan Brian
