I have very old 25ft Areca palms lining the property. One of the groups is dying. The palms fall, the trunk goes bare and after a while easily breaks off at the root ball. Not sure what to do. thanks

Hi Mariam. The roots of the palms are very thin and are not long but there are a lot of them. They don't spread far from the tree. I am don't think they can damage the fence. Maybe only pipes if are planted to close. ~Susan Brian

Hello, I planted 2 areca palms near the fence of my condo. The association removed them because they said the roots will ruin the fence. Can you please tell me if this is possible?

Susan,

I need to move 2 Areca palms in my backyard. They are ~5' and 9' tall. How big are the root systems and what other tips should I take note of?
